An early morning fire ripped through a storage facility blazing from storage unit to storage unit. About 2:45 a.m. this morning firefighters received a call that a mini-storage at I-70 and MacVicar was on fire.

Firefighters said that, when they arrived on the scene, heavy flames and smoke were coming from the center units. Security around the facility made battling the blaze difficult for crews on the scene.

Firefighters laid defensive lines around the burning units to help contain them.

It was the contents of each storage unit that was most vulnerable, items like mattresses and lawnmowers, since the units themselves were relatively new and metallic.

Crews have already begun clearing the scene and officials say the site will be salvaged and overhauled before the cause can be determined.
