It'll be four to six months before St. Francis Health Center decides whether it'll make a move to the west side of Topeka. St. Francis' new CEO, Michael Schrader, told 13 News on Monday that the hospital does not hold an option on the former Menninger property.
Schrader told Melissa Brunner that St. Francis is engaged in looking at the property, but they needed to take a step back and look at the process and have a dialogue.. then make a decision to move forward. Schrader has been on the job for a month. He's the first lay person to head up the facility as part of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth System. A sister had always held the CEO position in the past.
