DEXTER, Kan. (AP) _ Two people have been burned _ one critically
_ in a grass fire near the south-central Kansas town of Dexter.
Winfield Fire Chief Curtis Wilson says two ranchers were attempting to burn some pastureland Wednesday when the flames got out of control.
The men tried to drive away, but their pickup truck got caught in some fencing and eventually became engulfed in flames.
One man got out of the truck, but the other man was trapped inside and suffered burns to more than 75 percent of his body.
The man who was able to get out of the truck was not as seriously burned.
Wilson says more than 40 firefighters from Cowley and Sumner counties battled the blaze.
