Kansas, Governor Kathleen Sebelius has announced one appointment to the Southeast Kansas Library System.

“Libraries are an important part of their community,” Sebelius said. “That’s why we must continue to strengthen these institutions and increase their accessibility for every Kansan.”

Barbara Robison, Quincy, is retired after 30 years of teaching. She is currently a city clerk for the town of Virgil, Kansas. Active in her community, Robison is a member of numerous associations, including the Greenwood County Historical Society and the Greenwood County Farm Bureau Organization. Robison received her master’s degree from Emporia State University.

Robison has been appointed to serve a term expiring in 2010.

The Southeast Library System was established to achieve the goal of improving library services. The board advises both the governor and state librarian in regards to any policy, management and service that would best promote and advance the utilization and effectiveness of the state library and its extensions.
