Hundreds came out last night to say goodbye to Charles Glover senior and his four grandchildren, all of whom died in a fire last week.
Mourners filled the University of Kansas' Kansas Union Ballroom. The ceremony was held on campus because Glover worked as greenskeeper at the chancellor's residence.
University Chancellor Robert Hememway says he spoke to the 66-year-old Glover almost every day and he often talked about the grandchildren he was raising.
Authorities are still investigating the September 17th blaze that tore through Glover's house, killing him and the children, who ranged in age from 13 months to 13 years.
Glover's wife, Learlean, was the only survivor and asked Hememway to moderate the memorial.
