Support came pouring in at the University of Kansas Union Ballroom and family members of the fire victims say, the community's offered help and condolences all week. "We're really appreciative of the City of Lawrence and the University of Kansas has been really helpful throughout our tragedy," says Jeremy Hudson, a nephew of one of the fire victims, "it's been really overwhelming, the amount of support we've received from the community." Charles Glover and four of his grandchildren, ages 13 years to 13 months old, lost their lives in the house fire. Glover worked as a landscape maintenance staff member at KU for more than 20 years.
"This has been a loss not only for us, but Lawrence, the state of Kansas, the university, everybody," Hudson says. Glover's wife, Learlene, was the only survivor of the fire. She suffered smoke inhalation from the fire. "She's lost everyone and everything, so she's about as well as can be expected right now," Hudson says. Private graveside services were held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.
