Police Track Down Parents of Child Left at Topeka Park Friday
Topeka Police have found the parents of a baby boy left in a Topeka park Friday night. Police say the boy was found in a park near Girard and Irvingham. Reporter: 13 News |

Authorities tell 13 News, someone called police after seeing the boy's picture on a television broadcast and officers were then able to locate the parents. Authorities say officers brought the parents to the law enforcement center for questioning and that the parents say they thought a baby sitter was watching the child when he was left at the park.
Topeka Police say the boy is about one and half years old. Police say the parents have not been arrested. Officers tell 13 News the investigation is ongoing, but should be completed in a few days. Then, the Shawnee County District Attorney will decided whether to press charges against the parents. TPD officials say the child remains in SRS custody.
