Scott Cheever, the man set to go on trial in last year's murder of Greenwood County Sheriff Matt Samuels, has had his trial delayed. Cheever is facing 13 counts, including first degree murder in the death of the sheriff in January of 2005.
Sheriff Samuels was shot to death while trying to serve a search warrant at a home in Virgil, Kansas.. suspected of being a meth lab. Kansas legislators named a bill after Sheriff Samuels last year, outlawing the sales of pseudoephedrine and other meth-making chemicals over the counter at pharmacies in the state.
