Charges against a Topeka police officer stemming from a March 2008 shooting of two brothers in Southwest Topeka are being dropped.
13 News checked court records late tuesday afternoon and those documents indicated the state is filing a motion to dismiss charges against Jason M. Judd.
A preliminary hearing has been set for Thursday, but that's canceled and Shawnee County District Court Judge Nancy Parrish will issue a ruling in the case Wednesday.\

Yeah, there are some good cops, but they are few and getting fewer. They hire these arrogant punks that what to throw their authority around and take advantage of getting away with anything. I have very little respect for our law enforcers these days. I do not trust them. Firefighters are another story all together. I have a high regard for firefighters.

I've been around law enforcement for many many years, we all have our bad apples to the departments but you all have to understand that there are a lot of officers who work very hard and do there job outstanding. EMS / Fire / LEO's never get the credit for doing something wonderful. Is Judd a rotten no good cop....my opinion yes and I don't know him, but just remember there are really good ones out there also. Finally cops are just as human as the next person we are not perfect and we can't solve every problem in the world, we make mistakes and yes we should pay just as much as the next person. But, the courts make us do our job to get the convictions and I'm guess that the attorney probably just wants more before they go any further. There is such a thing as dismissed without prejudice....he still could be charged. Who knows?

Is there one living brain cell left in this town? If you were not there you don’t know what happened. I was not there, so I will not say he is guilty or innocent. I do not believe everything I read in the papers or see on TV (I bet you think WWE is real to). If you were not there and you say you know what happened, you are a fool! There is never one side to anything, you need to take from every side, that is everybody that was there, and somewhere in the middle you will have the truth. Hatch was trying to save his job based on the fact that most of you don’t have a clue, and you just want to hate the cops. If you think you can do better then get a job with the police department and make a change. Let’s see how long you can last trying to help a bunch of cry babies who do nothing but trash where they live then want somebody to come and fix it for them.
