James Rickey was convicted Wednesday after he pleaded no contest to one count each of attempted aggravated battery, attempted robbery and residential burglary.
Authorities said her death was related to the stress of the home invasion. And Rickey and Gaston originally were charged with counts
including first-degree murder.
Sentencing for Rickey on the reduced charges is scheduled for April.
Gaston already is in prison after pleading guilty in 2007 to involuntary manslaughter and felony burglary.
