Kansas Governor Enjoying Time Awaiting HHS Confirmation

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius says she remains focused on her job leading Kansas while she awaits Senate confirmation hearings on her nomination to be Health and Human Services Secretary.

Sebelius was at the Statehouse Thursday morning, posing for pictures with students serving as legislative pages for the day.

Sebelius says she is excited by the prospect of being able to work on issues she's passionate about, including improving health care for children and families.

But asked what she'll miss most about Kansas, Sebelius says she's not ready to write off this chapter just yet. She says she enjoys each day being Governor of Kansas.

The U.S. Senate must stillapprove her nomination. The hearings will likely take place in the next three weeks.
