Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, or C.R.E.W. says a fundraising letter by the senator on behalf of Catholic Advocates violates senate ethics committee rules because it's sent on what looks like official Senate stationary.
The letter asks people to sign a "Stop Freedom of Choice Act" petition and calls into question the faith of five catholic senators.
A Brownback spokesperson told the Topeka Capital Journal that the complaint is frivolous but the senator has asked catholic advocates to stop sending it.
