Topeka Zoo Hippo Dies

Sad news from the Topeka Zoo Monday, their hippopotamus, Peka-Sue, has died.

Peka Sue would have turned 48-years old in June, making her one of the oldest hippos in captivity.

Zoo staff noticed she was acting lethargic Saturday, she died Sunday afternoon.

A necropsy revealed no significant findings.

Peka Sue was born at the kansas city zoo in 1961, she moved to Topeka in 1966.
