In response to your request for comments about the TV coming on the air in 1953, I was in the army in Korea and didn't come home until late in 1954.
I was an early listener to WIBW radio in the late 1930's and have listened continuously since then. In the 30's, 40's, and 50's as I was growing up on a farm we had a radio in our dairy barn that was always on and we always listened to the early news and also the Pleasant Valley gang when we were doing chores.
I also knew a couple of the families that were on the programs back then. It was great listening and a great radio station.
