In 1955-56, I was living at 11th and Tyler in Topeka. Each morning, I would walk to Clark's Business College on the Avenue to go to school there.
During the winter, some mornings were very cold. I would stop in at the WIBW studios and warm up. I sometimes would watch a little bit of the Edmond Denny Show or Miss Elsa play the piano.
It sure helped my mile walk up to Clark's Business College each morning. I would stop at the corner drugstore on the NW side of 10th and Boulevard and get me a stack of pancakes for breakfast for about 29 cents, or maybe one egg and toast for the same.
