The names and faces of Johns, men arrested for soliciting prostitutes, may be shown on Topeka's cable T.V. channel.
City Councilwoman Lana Kennedy believes that showing photos of
the Johns' faces -- and maybe pictures of the prostitutes, too will deter the practice, which she says thrives in her district. She says two other council members support her idea.
Community police officer Shawn Raynard is assigned to the neighborhood, and isn't so sure that ``John T-V'' would act as a
deterrent. She says prostitution is the only source of income for most of the women working the streets and thinks they'd be back soon after their release.
But Kennedy says Johns come into the area in fancy cars to pick up prostitutes, and many of them are business people who think no one is watching them.
