When she was 15, Danielle Coffman was a promising young singer inspired by the tragic events of September 11th. Within weeks Danielle had written the lyrics to "American People."

Her song "American People" was inspired by the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the many they saved that day. These days, Danielle is still singing, but now she says it's more of a hobby. She's been focusing more on her studies at Washburn University and on a new love she has discovered, pageants. "It's a great way to learn to have self esteem and self-confidence. When you're on stage, it's all you. It made me realize what a special person I am, everyone is."

Danielle competed in the Miss Kansas Pageant in June. She won Miss Great Plains and she was also first runner up in the Miss Capital City Pageant. And her talent for the pageants was singing.
