A tragic accident at a manufacturing plant in Atchison claimed one life. It happened Monday at the Golden Star Inc. plant.
The Atchison Globe reported Thursday that 48-year-old Joseph Julo, of Atchison, was killed after a free-standing hydraulic machine used to press mop heads fell on him. It caused severe head trauma and pinned him to the floor.
Julo was the vice president of manufacturing at the company, which makes floor maintenance products.
The newspaper says employees got the machine off and tried to revive him, without success. The accident is under investigation.
