Wichita Engineers Reject Boeing Contract Offer

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Engineers at Boeing Co.'s military aircraft plant in Wichita have rejected what the company calls its final contract offer.

Members of the union representing 700 engineers at Boeing's Integrated Defense Systems plant turned down the offer on a vote of
209-28.

The vote by the Society of Professional Engineering Employees did not include a strike authorization at the Wichita plant.

Bob Brewer, Midwest director for SPEEA, says the union is ready to resume negotiating for an offer that employees will accept.
