Manhattan Mailbox Maker Lays Off 86

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) -- Economic times are affecting yet another
Kansas business, with 86 workers being laid off from Florence
Manufacturing in Manhattan.

Company spokeswoman Donna Logback said today that the layoffs
leave more than 250 employees still working, which meets the
agreement with the city for economic development funds. Florence
Manufacturing makes residential and commercial mailboxes.

She said overall market conditions have reduced demand for their
product.
