An Overland Park lawyer faces two years in prison for embezzling money from a church.

A federal judge also ordered 51-year-old Keith B- Koenigsdorf to pay back $297,000 he stole from the Central United Methodist Church in Kansas City, Missouri.

U.S. Attorney Bradley Schlozman says Koenigsdorf siphoned off the money gradually, cashing more than 90 checks over a four-year period.

Authorities say Koenigsdorf made out checks to himself, signed them with his name and sometimes that of another person, and deposited the money into his law firm's account.
