More than 2,000 people came to hear the debate at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson, Saturday. The arena was heavily packed with Sebelius supporters who chanted, "four more years'' and at times booed to drown out Barnett during the debate.
Sebelius told voters to ask themselves whether they were better off now than they were four years ago when she became governor. She touted a growing state economy and better school financing.
Barnett, for his part, kept hitting on how Kansas was a high tax state that was driving businesses away. He vowed if elected to get rid of estate taxes, give businesses a ten percent investment tax credit and boost the income tax exemption for dependents by $500.
