TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Ron Thornburgh says he won't run for Kansas
secretary of state again, no matter how his campaign for governor
turns out.

Thornburgh will face Sen. Sam Brownback in the August 2010
Republican primary for governor. Brownback hasn't publicly
announced, but he's formed a campaign committee and is raising
money.

Many Republicans consider Brownback the leading candidate,
leading them to speculate about how long Thornburgh will stay in
the race.

But Thornburgh said Saturday: ``I am not getting out of the
governor's race. I am not running for secretary of state again.''

Thornburgh is serving his fourth term as secretary of state,
having first been elected in 1994.
