TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ The State Library is hosting an exhibit of scenic photographs of western Kansas.

The 10 photos are in the entrance area of the library, on the third floor of the Statehouse. The display opened this week and will continue through Feb. 27.

The photographs are by Hal Stiles of Garfield. Stiles has spent years traveling western Kansas to capture images of the area's beauty. His work includes such topics as Monument Rock near Scott City, fossils, open landscapes and rock formations.

Stiles said he wants to show beauty and richness of western Kansas landscapes, recreational opportunities and history.
