The owner of a Topeka gymnastic-dance and cheerleading business accused of having sexual relations with a child will spend more than two years behind bars.
48-year-old David Byrd was sentenced Wednesday to 30 months in prison and two-years of supervision after he is released.
Byrd owns the Gym-Zone at 3526 Southeast 21st Street in Topeka. He was arrested in August on charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, unlawful criminal restraint and criminal threats.
A teenage girl told police she was assaulted by a man she knew at a business with same address as the Gym-Zone.
