Fort Riley's Child Youth and School Services cut the ribbon today on the second of two child development centers.
The first ribbon cutting ceremony was held on January 9th, 2009. The second ribbon cutting ceremony was held this morning at 11:30am, near the Irwin Army Community Hospital.
The two new child care development facilities are the first of six that are expected to be completed by December 2010 at Fort Riley. The new centers are approved by the Chief of the Army as part of an accelerated strategy to meet the demands of child care within the Army and to enhance the quality of life for Soldiers and their families.
By 2012-- Fort Riley is expected to be capable of assisting more than two-thousand additional families with their child care needs.
