TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Kansans who supported Republican John McCain say it's time to get behind the new president.

Steve Cloud, who chaired the Arizona senator's campaign in Kansas, said Tuesday he wishes Barack Obama success and believes it's important to support the new Democratic president. Cloud says once the election is over, it's time to put politics aside.

State GOP executive director Christian Morgan said he's withholding any criticism of the new president and of Democrats. But Morgan also notes there are plenty of issues that Republicans will want to handle differently than Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress.
