19-Year-Old Jailed in Death After Fight in Salina

SALINA, Man. (AP) _ A 19-year-old suspect is jailed in Salina in the death of a man who suffered serious injuries during a fight over the weekend.

The victim died early yesterday after an altercation Sunday morning at a mobile home park, where police found the injured man after someone called 911. Deputy Police Chief Carson Mansfield would not reveal the type of weapon used or the type of injuries the man suffered.

The victim's name has not been released.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of two counts of aggravated battery with the intent to cause great bodily harm, aggravated burglary and damage to property. Mansfield said the suspect likely will be charged with an additional count of murder.

The incident was Salina's first homicide of the year.
