GREENSBURG, Kan. (AP) _ Even the jail in Greensburg is coming back to life.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Agency is giving the Kiowa County Detention Center a nearly $2 million grant and a $300,000 loan. The money will be used for repairs and renovations needed after the jail was struck by an EF-5 tornado on May 4, 2007.

The total cost for the renovation is estimated at just over $3 million.

The twister killed 11 people and destroyed or damaged 95 percent of the structures in the south-central Kansas town about 110 miles west of Wichita.
