Toth Appears in Federal Court

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) _ Former Topeka Dr. John Toth has his first federal court hearing on 13 counts accusing him of selling a bogus microscope and phony drug to diagnose and treat Lyme disease.

Two Californians are also named in a 25-count indictment.

Toth is currently serving a 32-month sentence for reckless involuntary manslaughter, stemming from the death of a patient.
