Jury Trial Set for Woman Accused of Hitting Lawrence Police Officer

A Topeka woman accused of hitting a Lawrence police officer during a high speed will head to jury trial in March.

The preliminary hearing for 27-year-old Barbara Jo Schnegelsiepen wrapped up Wednesday. A Douglas County judge ruled there is enough evidence for her to stand trial on eleven charges including aggravated assault and aggravated battery to a law enforcement officer.

Schnegelsiepen was arrested December 2 after allegedly robbing two Lawrence homes, then leading law enforcement on a high speed chase.

A motions hearing is set for March 2. A jury trial is set for March 30.
