Kansas Man Wins $2.76M Hot Lotto Jackpot

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ A Wichita-area aircraft worker claims a Hot Lotto jackpot worth more than $2.7 million.

Lottery officials say the winner is an employee of Spirit AeroSystems and lives in Belle Plaine. They say the new millionaire chose the cash option, meaning he's taking just over $1.9 million before taxes. He did not want to reveal his name.

The winning ticket from Saturday's drawing in the 13-state game was a $10 Quick Pick bearing the combination, 4-13-16-23-39 Hot Ball 6.

After federal taxes of $448,000 and state taxes of almost $96,000 are withheld, the winner will receive a check for more than $1.3 million. He says he plans to use the prize money to get "completely out of debt'' and to help family members.
