Angry customer accused of setting fire at store

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) -- Portland police said a customer angry over a convenience store clerk's refusal to sell alcohol returned and set a fire. Officers said the man became belligerent before leaving the Big Apple store Thursday night, then returned a half-hour later with a gas can.

Police said he poured fluid outside the building and in the entryway inside the store before setting it afire.

Police said there was minimal damage and the man fled on foot. He was described as a white, short, in his mid 30 or 40s, and wearing jeans and a green jacket.
