Shots Fired Outside KC Basketball Game

LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. (AP) _ A teenager is arrested after police report gunshots outside a suburban Kansas City high school following a basketball game between rivals.

Lt. Mike Childs, a police spokesman, says just the one arrest was made and that a gun was recovered from beneath a vehicle in a parking lot at Lee's Summit North High School.

Friday's game was between Lee's Summit North and crosstown rival Lee's Summit High.

Childs says the suspect had been seen with a weapon earlier and was caught fleeing from the area.

Two off-duty officers working the game were checking into a reported disturbance, then heard a gunshot.

No injuries were reported. But police were checking hospitals to make sure no one had been shot.
