The first attraction of Wild West World in suburban Wichita is officially open.
The Johnny Western Theatre is named for the musician and longtime KFDI radio personality. It was unveiled on Thursday during a ribbon-cutting ceremony with park Owners Thomas and Cheryl Etheredge.
The theme park eventually will include 25 rides and other features.
Thomas Etheredge said the rest of the $27 million dollar theme park will be completed in about 90 days, although the seasonal portion won't open until May 5th. Until then, staff members will be cleaning, stocking and testing all the rides and attractions.
The Johnny Western Theatre will remain open year-round.
