The Soldiers allegedly broke into the home and held a family at knife point while the burglary took place.
One of the victims alerted police to the crime using a cell phone. Police arrived at the scene and arrested the Soldiers without incident as the four attempted to flee the residence.
“In no way do these alleged actions reflect the values of Big Red One Soldiers,” said Lt. Col. Matthew Hackathorn, 1st Inf. Div. Public Affairs spokesperson. “Local law enforcement can expect full cooperation from Fort Riley in their investigation.”
The four currently are being held at the Junction City Police Department until their initial court appearance today. Charges include aggravated burglary, kidnapping, aggravated assault, theft and criminal threats.
