It's been a few months since we first featured Daddy Cakes, but since then our newsroom has developed quite a crush on their cupcakes! So when "Every Day with Racheal Ray" decided to feature them, it was no surprise to us.
Pastry Chef Allyson Fiander makes every cupcake by hand using basic ingredients each day. The dozens and dozens of cupcakes she makes use a lot of ingredients, try twenty pounds of sugar each day.
"What's even more surprising is the amount of butter we use!" Fiander laughs.
You can taste that key ingredient in the wonderfully smooth buttercream icing that tops so many of her treats.
There are so many different flavors to choose from at Daddy Cakes from classics like Death By Chocolate and Billy Vanilly to new creations like Cookie Dough, Cosmopolitan, Pink Lemonade, Cinnamon Roll, Chai Spice and Margarita!
But the one that garnered national attention is the Retro! It's a tribute to the hostess cupcake and it earned a spot as one of the top 5 "On-The-Go" cupcakes in the country! That has Fiander still walking on air. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it!"
