A task force of community members presented its ideas for cutting costs to the USD 501 school board Thursday night.
Among the suggestions in its 60-plus page report is possibly reducing the number of elementary schools in the Topeka public school district.
USD 501 formed the Budget Stakeholders Committee to get feedback on how to reduce its budget. The district faces cutting $8- to $12 million.
The committee studied district services and what it costs to provide them then ranked its priorities.
