The Topeka Police responded to a roll over crash in the 500 block SW 29th at 12:23 AM. Witnesses to the crash stated the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed traveling west on 29th before losing control just west of the intersection or SW 29th and Topeka Blvd and rolling. The car came to a stop in the park area between Fairway Drive and SW 29th.

The driver remained in the wrecked car, as his hand was pinned between the roof of the car and the tree it rested against. Topeka Fire was called to the scene to assist with extrication and first responder medical attention.

The presence of alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash. Neither driver nor passenger was wearing a seatbelt. Related traffic charges are imminent.
