TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ An official of the U.S. Census says Missouri
might lose a Congressional seat once the 2010 U.S. Census is
completed.

Dennis Johnson, regional director for the U.S. Census, was in Topeka, Kan., Monday to mark the official opening of the Kansas Census headquarters. Johnson said the latest data do not show Kansas losing one of its four seats.

But Johnson says Missouri might lose one of its nine seats.

There has been speculation the Kansas delegation in the U.S. House could be cut to three because other areas of the country have shown population growth greater than Kansas.

Johnson says that could all change by April 1, 2010, the official census count day.
