Shawnee Co. Compromises on Golf Course Fees

TOPEKA - Annual permit holders for two Shawnee County-owned golf courses will only have to pay more on holidays.

Commissioners made the decision at their meeting Monday. Their original proposal called for permit holders to also pay extra when a golf tournament or special event was being held.

The county owns the Forbes and Lake Shawnee courses.

Also at their meeting Monday, the county's motor vehicle annex won't be moved from White Lakes Center. Treasurer Larry Wilson had been looking at a new location near 29th and Fairlawn, but the space has already been leased to someone else.
