COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) _ The Missouri attorney general's office reached a settlement with the former owners of a Columbia-based online toy and gift business accused of cheating customers.

In a petition filed in Cole County Circuit Court, former HBM LLC owners Dan and Samantha Corkery agreed to pay $2,320 in restitution to unsatisfied customers who bought items from three Web sites the
couple owned.

The Corkerys also agreed to pay $3,000 to reimburse the attorney general's office for costs and provide consumer-education program

Customers say they made purchases but received damaged goods or no items at all. Some had trouble returning items.

Samantha Corkery says she and her husband got in over their heads in a business that saw sales boom to 27,000 orders in three years.
