Two Arrested for Stealing TVs, Computer

Two Topekans were arrested Monday afternoon after they tried stealing two flat screen televisions and a desktop computer from a Holton Wal-Mart, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

Around 1:00 p.m., Leonadin Maurice Sanders, 36, allegedly walkedinto the Wal-Mart, picked up the computer and a 32" and 22" TV's, totaling over $1,500. He then ran past employees into an awaiting van.

The Jackson County Sheriff and Deputies caught up with the fleeing van on US 75, north of Mayetta. The van refused to stop, leading to a brief chase. Soon, though, the van was stopped and Sanders was detained after trying to get away on foot.

He was arrested, along with the driver of the van, Rae Leana Conley, 33, on charges of Aggravated Burglary, Felony Theft, Conspiracy, and Felony Obstruction.
