MERRIAM, Kan. (AP) _ Motorists on Interstate 35 helped save the life an apparently suicidal woman who jumped off the 75th Street overpass yesterday afternoon.

Drivers saw the 43-year-old woman hanging on a fence on the overpass and got out of the cars to keep her from jumping.

She got away from them and jumped, but people who were standing outside their vehicles below broke her fall -- and all she suffered was a broken leg.
