Animals Need "Helping Hands"

(Topeka, KS)--People have been dropping off a record number of animals to the Helping Hands Human Shelter in Topeka. Whether it is the slowing economy or other reasons, people just don't seem to want to keep their pets.

The shelter has gotten in almost 600 pets in December, and the month is not over yet. Many of these pets will be put down due to space restrictions.

If you would like to adopt a pet, the shelter suggests coming in and speaking with their specialists. They will try to find a pet that suits your needs.
