Ex-NJ lawmaker faces child porn charges

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- A former lawmaker who resigned after images of a naked girl were reportedly found in his office has been charged with reproducing, possessing and distributing child pornography.

According to state Attorney General Anne Milgram, former Assemblyman Neil Cohen also faces an official misconduct charge.

He could go to prison for more than 10 years if convicted of the most serious count.

Milgram's office began investigating the Democrat after a staffer reported finding a printout of a nude adolescent girl this summer in Cohen's Union Township office.

Cohen gave up his Assembly seat in July and checked himself into a psychiatric hospital. A call to his cell phone was not answered Wednesday.
