Kan. Governor Press Secretary Leaving

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Gov. Kathleen Sebelius' press secretary, Nicole Corcoran, is leaving to become chief of staff for University of Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins.

In an announcement Wednesday, the university said Corcoran will start work with Perkins on Feb. 2. Corcoran said Perkins called and offered her the job.

Corcoran was Sebelius' press secretary when she was insurance commissioner from 1999-2002, worked in her first gubernatorial campaign and has been with the governor since she took office in 2002.

No replacement has been announced.
