The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has confirmed the first flu case of the 2008-2009 season. It's in south-central Kansas.

They say it's a reminder it's not too late to get the yearly flu vaccination. The CDC has developed a video informing people why the flu is such a serious disease. You can see it at http://www/familiesfightingflu.org/media/.
