TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ The Kansas National Guard Foundation will receive a $15,000 donation on Wednesday from a health care alliance that serves 21 western states.

The foundation will use the gift from Phoenix-based TriWest to support deploying members of the Kansas National Guard, their families and communities. Last year, the foundation helped bring members of an Army National Guard battalion home from Texas for the holidays before the soldiers deployed to Iraq.

Guard members and their families can receive financial assistance from the foundation to cover emergency expenses. Funds are also used to provide camps for children and training for families.
