Group Collects Items to Help Needy

The United Way's Volunteer Center committee loaded up boxes of personal care items Tuesday as part of "Operation Clean Sweep."

The volunteers collected the items at their work places.

The goods will be distributed through seven local non-profit agencies.

Organizers say the gifts may seem small, but will be appreciated and will make a big difference.

Agencies benefiting from the drive include Let's Help, Doorstep, Salvation Army, Breakthrough House, Battered Women's Task Force, Florence Crittenton Services and Cornerstone.
